The NSC Board of Directors has been meeting with stakeholders, directors and contest administrators from other circuits over the last several months to help inform and shape appropriate and safe planning for the 2021 season.
While there’s still many unknowns in this ever-evolving pandemic situation, the NSC is planning to offer as many in-person performance events as possible in 2021. These events won’t look exactly how they usually do because of strategic modifications following CDC, statewide and Minnesota State High School League guidelines. Measures such as capacity limits, distancing and mask requirements are just some of the protocols that will be in place.
In addition, the 2021 season will start later, end later and include more non-show weekends between to allow for greater monitoring of health conditions with our units and spectators.
The NSC is fully committed to providing performance opportunities as long as we can do so safely. While it is our plan to proceed with an in-person season, we fully intend to adjust and cancel events based on infection rates and health dept guidelines at the time. Plans for virtual contests are currently underway should conditions prohibit live events.
A comprehensive guide for directors, performers, spectators and show hosts will be released in the coming months to help guide our entire community and ensure we’re all safely marching to the beat of the same drum. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to navigate this unprecedented situation.
